Two routes to the same joke
Search this trend and you will find two ways to make it. CapCut templates ride inside TikTok and the CapCut app: pick the template, drop in a clip of someone eating, and the edit assembles the window framing around it. This site takes the other route: upload a still photo, and an AI video model generates the entire window scene around that person.
Neither route is the "real" one. They suit different people, and this page says plainly where each wins. For the scene itself, see the template breakdown.
The CapCut template route
Cost: free. Input: a video clip of the person, ideally already eating and looking up. Effort: a few minutes inside CapCut, once you have found a working template link (they expire and get re-uploaded under new names constantly).
Its strengths are real: it is free, it uses genuine footage of the person, and the in-app flow posts straight to TikTok with the trending sound attached. Its limits are just as real: you need usable footage of the person at a table; the framing is whatever the template author chose; quality and watermark behaviour depend on the template and your CapCut tier; and the person has to have been filmed, which rules out the surprise-gift version of the joke, the one where a friend opens TikTok and sees themselves at the window.
This generator
Cost: 8 credits per video, smallest pack $5.99. Input: one still photo of an adult. Effort: upload, wait a few minutes, download.
The scene is rebuilt around the photo: the push-in, the burger, the frozen stare, the curtain. Because the input is a photo, the subject never had to sit at a window, or know the video was being made (with their permission, always). The how-to guide covers the whole flow, and the free page explains what the credits pay for.
Which should you choose?
Choose the CapCut template if you have a good eating clip already and want the fastest free version. Choose the generator if all you have is a photo, if the video is a surprise for someone, or if you want the full cinematic push-in without filming anything.
Plenty of people do both: the free template for themselves, the generated version for the friend who would never sit still for the clip. When you are ready, the generator is one photo away.
